PostHeaderIcon Shocking! 30 athletes banned from Vancouver Olympics

Shocking news from Vancouver today as more than 30 Olympic athletes have been banned from the 2010 Winter Olympics for various anti-doping violations. The names and countries of the athletes have not been released to the public as of yet but it seems that some Countries have already been notified.
United States Olympic Committee spokesman Bob Condron said no American athletes were among the 30-plus cases. The USOC would have been informed if any Team USA members were going to be prevented from entering Canada, he said.
Athletes were given anti-doping tests in the time before the games and banning athletes is not a new thing as rules for cheating increase with each Olympic games.
Pending cases were reported to the World Anti-Doping Agency, which passed them on to the International Olympic Committee. Violations could include positive tests for banned substances or failure to comply with the whereabouts system, in which athletes must make themselves available for at least an hour a day to facilitate unannounced tests.
